Jennifer Sanders joined the NewsChannel 9 family in 2012 and is thrilled to call Central New York home! She co-anchors The Morning News with Dan Cummings and anchors The Noon News.

Before moving to Central New York, she was a reporter and community affairs host at KXII-TV in Sherman, Texas, where she was responsible for shooting, writing and editing her stories. Prior to that, she was a writer/web producer at KDAF-TV in Dallas-Fort Worth.

Jennifer's most memorable experiences include interviewing Oprah Winfrey during her visit to Syracuse, covering President Barack Obama's visit to Cooperstown, getting hundreds of thousands of dollars back to Central New Yorkers scammed by a home contractor and field producing an award-winning holiday special with the Dallas Cowboys.

Jennifer is a big believer in giving back to her community. She actively works with children and teens through the Syracuse City School District mentoring program. She also sits on the board of directors for Vera House, Inc. She's involved in various organizations dedicated to empowering, educating and engaging families around Central New York and the world.  Jennifer is a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. as well as The Links, Inc.

As the daughter of retired military parents (Army), she has lived throughout Europe and the United States, but considers herself a true Texan. She earned a bachelor's degree in mass communications/Spanish from Texas Lutheran University and a master's degree in journalism from the University of North Texas.
