CNY TeenFest 2017

Festival by Teens for Teens moved to Henninger High School

CNY TeenFest is heading into it's second year and has found a new home at Henninger High School. The festival was held at the Palace Theatre in it's inaugural year but organizers felt they needed at larger space after the success they received previously.

The festival is put together by teens for teens and is headed by the Teen Talk program. The online multi-media program allows the "teen talkers" to help their peers and discuss challenges and choices regarding things such as relationships, school, alcohol and drugs, and other sensitive topics. Kurstin Moser is one of the hosts of Teen Talk and a festival organizer and discusses how much thought they put into make this event best for the community.

The event will feature live music and one of the bands performing is The Posted. The band began years ago but has been seeing success since winning the JCC's Battle of the Bands competition recently. Riley Burns is a member of the band and is excited to bring his friends to an event such as TeenFest.

While the night is meant to have fun, it's also meant to be a learning experience for students and teens. Information and members from Contact Community Services will be in attentdance to help share information on how to live a healthier lifestyle and dealing with problems in today’s teen society. So while the teens are having a great time at this festival, they can also meet different people to help them and inform them how to deal with different stresses of life.

CNY TeenFest takes place this Saturday, August 5th at Henninger High School in Syracuse. Doors open at 4:00pm and for more information, you can visit cnyteenfest.org.
