The Penguin Palooza is an event held every year that gives families a chance to see the Zoo after hours. Attendees enjoy live animal demonstrations throughout the evening, including the penguin feeding, food tastings, a performance by Bubble man, games and entry into the Zoo.
Attendees will be sure to enjoy all the exhibits the Zoo has to offer including many animal favorites like the Elephants and Penguins.
Founded in 1914, the Rosamond Gifford Zoo at Burnet Park is among the top 10 percent of zoos in the country. In 2005, the Penguin Exhibit opened for the first time with 18 Humboldt penguins. In 2006, penguin chicks hatch for the first time; there are four baby chicks.
