The Syracuse Area Music Awards (SAMMYs) are finally here with the special award ceremony happening tonight upstairs at the Dinosaur Bar-B-Que. A new round of musicians will be inducted into the SAMMYs Hall of Fame and one of this year's inductees,John Cadley, says the Central New York music scene has a special place in his heart.
John Cadley is a vocalist, guitarist and mandolin player for his band, The Cadleys. He has been creating music since he was thirteen years old. Caldey says he started singing folk music, but started to gain an interest in bluegrass and country music.
Cadley not only sings and plays music, but he also writes music. His songs have been recorded by artists like Jim Hurst, Missy Raines, Tony Trischka and Amy Gallatin. Lou Reid is also an artist who took Cadleys song “Time” to the #1 spot on the national bluegrass charts.
