Big Game Wings with Shaughnessy's Irish Pub

Two Delicious Recipes to Add to Your Tailgate Menu

With the Big Game just a few days away, one thing that every tailgate or party needs to be a success is the good food.

Executive Chef Thomas Kiernan of Shaughnessy's Irish Pub in Syracuse has two wing recipes to make your party a big hit:

Bourbon BBQ Wings

1/2 cup Bourbon

1 cup ketchup

4 Tablespoons apple cider vinegar

2/3 cup honey

1/2 cup brown sugar

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon garlic powder

4 teaspoons hot sauce

4 Tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

Salt to taste

24 Jumbo Chicken Wings

Combine all ingredients (except the wings) in a saucepan. Bring to a boil, and reduce to a simmer for 30 minutes.

Prepare your wings as you usually would- bake, roast, fry-  and toss with Bourbon BBQ Sauce when fully cooked.

Jamaican Jerk Wings

1 Medium Onion quartered

½ Cup Scallions, chopped

2 tsp Fresh Thyme Leaves

1 tsp Salt

2 tsp Sugar

1 tsp Jamaican Allspice

½ tsp ground nutmeg

½ teaspoon ground cinnamon

2 Jalapenos, halved

1 Green Pepper, halved & seeded

1 tsp ground black pepper

3 Tbsp Soy Sauce

1 Tbsp Oil

1 Tbsp Cider Vinegar

24 Jumbo Chicken Wings

Combine all ingredients in a processor (except the wings) and pulse until well-chopped.

Toss your wings with a ½ cup of your Jerk Sauce and let sit in the fridge for at least 4 hours.

Remove from the fridge and toss with the rest of your sauce. Bake in a preheated 350 degree oven for 35-40 minutes.

Serve immediately. Enjoy!

Shaughnessy's Irish Pub is located on 550 S. Warren Street and is open seven days a week for lunch and dinner.
