Students at Cazenovia College know that doing good for others is good for you.
As part of their business and management capstone seniors Allie Van Allen and Morgan Way each found a way to fundraise for the benefit of the Upstate Golisano Children's Hospital.
Allie's project focus is putting on a charity 5K walk/run in conjunction with the “More Than a Game Foundation.” The 5k will be Saturday, April 22nd at 10am. It starts at Critz Farms and ends at Empire Farmstead Brewery. Registration for the run is $20 and $10 for the after party. Morgan is planning the second annual Golden Gala. That event is planned for Friday, April 21st at 5:30pm at the Hampton Inn & Suites in Cazenovia. Tickets are $35 for adults and $30 for students. For tickets, email firstname.lastname@example.org.
For both students, the best part of the capstone project is being able to give back to the community, they said. Because of their efforts, one hundred percent of the proceeds from both events will go toward the unmet needs of children treated at Golisano. More than 100,000 children are cared for by Golisano each year. To learn more about what you can do to help and to participate in each event visit cazenoviacollege5k.education or www.cazenovia.edu
