The Central New York Home & Garden Show is taking place this weekend at the New York State Fairgrounds and it's the perfect place to go if you're looking to make some changes around your house. As we head into spring, many people start thinking about what projects they can do to make their house feel more like a home. Tim Fox caught up with Mary Thompson from the Home Builders and Remodelers Association of Central New York before they opened the doors to the public.
While some might have been nervous about vendors making it in with the terrible winter weather we've had of late, Thompson noted that almost all exhibitors have made it into Syracuse. There will be hundreds of exhibitors with the latest and greatest in everything from kitchens and bathrooms to landscaping. The scope of the show makes it one of the largest in the North East. They expect around 30,000 people coming to get information to compare and contrast who might be the best to suit each homeowners' needs.
Besides just shopping around, the Home & Garden Show is a great place to educate yourself. Thompson discussed the legislation that the Home Builders and Remodelers Association of CNY are looking to have passed to stop 'storm chaser' contractors who are known to scam owners. All exhibitors at the show this weekend are professionals that work to maintain the reputation of the industry.
