Financial Advisor Rick Reagan says future employers and future purchases can be affected if you do not have a good credit score.
He says two of the most important factors are paying your bills on time and not having outstanding credit. A $10,000 max on a credit card should never have more than $3000 on it.
A good credit score:
35% Payment History
30% Amounts Owed
15% Length of History
10% New Credit
10% Types of Credit
Go to Credit Karma or Annual Credit Report to get credit reports and protect your credit against fraud.
