Homelessness In CNY

The Rescue Mission presents events going on in observance of National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week.
We all know how cold the winter in Syracuse is-- imagine having to spend all your time facing the cold, snow and freezing rain? Being aware that our homeless have to go through this daily is just the first step in solving the problem. This week is National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week.

Tonight, Rescue Mission Board Members, CEO Alan Thornton and other staff and volunteers will be sleeping outside; braving the elements as so many others do every night to spread awareness for men, women and children in need. This Friday, the Rescue Mission will also be hosting a documentary, @Home, which shows the faces of homelessness in America.

Sleep-out Syracuse:
  • Tonight at 7 pm
  • Hosted at the Rescue Mission
@Home Documentary:
  • Begins at 7:30pm
  • This Friday, Nov. 22nd
  • The Palace Theatre on James Street
  • Free admission with food or clothing donation
