“Once Upon A Cancer”

At 17, Syracuse native Jesse Pardee was diagnosed with Ewings Sarcoma, a childhood bone cancer.  She was treated at SUNY Upstate and is now a 5 year survivor.

Pardee is now an actress, and is performing in a one-woman show about her journey from diagnosis through treatment.  It's called Once Upon a Cancer and will be performed at 8pm on December 27th and 28th at the CNY Playhouse inside ShoppingTown Mall.  It doubles as a benefit for Make-A-Wish Central New York.

Pardee has appeared most recently as the lead role of Florence Vassy in Chess at Point Park Conservatory of Performing Arts (Pittsburgh Playhouse). She also made a brief appearance in the ensemble of the First National Tour of Spring Awakening. Favorite credits include Grease (Marty), Reefer Madness (Mary Lane), Broadway and Beyond with Brian Stokes Mitchell (chorus), Illyria (ensemble, u/s Olivia), and To Kill A Mockingbird (Mayella Ewell). BA Musical Theater from Point Park Conservatory of Performing Arts.

Don't miss this original one woman show at CNY Playhouse.... it'll be a night of song, laughter and tears as Jessie shares her story of survival.   And all proceeds benefit Make-A-Wish Central New York!
