Chef Billy from Basil Leaf Ristorante in North Syracuse shares one of his recipes today.  The restaurant is currently located in the village North Syracuse, but will be re-opening in the old Fresno's building at Taft Road and Route 11 later this month.

Pasta CeCi

1 lb shell pasta
1 Tbsp garlic
1 tsp fresh basil
1/2 cup shallots
Pinch of red pepper
1 cup Romano cheese
1 quart chicken broth
2 cups marinara sauce
4 cans garbanzo beans
Salt and pepper

Cook pasta according to instructions on box. Combine the olive oil, garlic, shallots and red pepper, and sauté for 3 minutes. Add the beans with some salt and pepper, and sauté for 2 minutes. Add the stock and sauce, and simmer for 7 minutes. Add the cheese and cooked pasta. Enjoy!
