"Hooked" At The Redhouse

The Regional Screening of a film about LGBTQ Youth

Redhouse Arts Center will present the regional screening and premier of "Hooked" a timely feature film focussing on LGBTQ youth homelessness in the United States.

The film is written and directed by Instagram superstar Max Emerson, who wanted to learn more about a topic that many people don't often address when it comes to the LGBTQ youth in our communities.

"Hooked" tells the story of Jack, a homeless teenage prostitute with a smart mouth, impulsive tendencies and a bad boy swagger. Jack's story takes you through a journey as he faces a violent world of reckless johns desperately seeking a better life with his boyfriend. When a closeted older client enters the picture, Jack’s challenges escalate as he is taken from the homeless shelters of Manhattan to the shiny but deceptive dream of a better life in Miami. The story depicts a harsh and tantalizing world where even good intentions can cause ruinous results.

The regional film premiere of "Hooked" starts at 7pm on Thursday August 17 at the Redhouse Arts Center. Tickets are $15 and the screening will be followed by a question and answer panel with the director and the cast. Redhouse will also donate the profits of the evening to The Q Center of Central New York. For more information on the film visit TheRedhouse.org
