Fox Fest Celebrates 10 Years

Local Music Festival to Benefit Charity

Nothing better than local food, local bands, and a homegrown music festival that’s won a Sammy Award as best festival of the year.

Fox Fest is a non-profit outdoor music event held in the rural community of Navarino. The music festival attracts over 25 hundred people a year by providing great food and music by 12 local bands. The bands do a mix of their own country, older rock, and pop, etc.

George Ryan and Dodie Grome of the Fox Fest committee tell us that the festival received its name because they live on Fox Road.

Admission to the event isn't an actual ticket, but a T-shirt. The festival is funded by the donations of local sponsors and guests. This year, the proceeds will help the Carrie Lazarus fund for Extraordinary Talent, which supports performing arts students in Central New York.

Speaking of Extraordinary Talent, Savannah Harmon,a rising country singer from Cicero, had the opportunity to play in the festival last year. Because of her friendship with Carrie, Savannah has the privilege of opening up the show this year.

The festival is scheduled for August 5th in Navarino. Pre-sale registration is now available and runs through July 11th.
