"Guys and Dolls" Comes to the Finger Lakes

The Finger Lakes Musical Theater Festival Starts with a Classic

A Broadway classic from the 1950's is the season opener for the Finger Lakes Musical Theater Festival. Frank Loesser’s Guys & Dolls will open at the Merry-Go-Round Playhouse next week for the first time in decades.

The beloved musical tells the story of gamblers in New York City, and their romantic adventures. Traci Bair, who plays the leading role of Sarah Brown in this production, says the theme of romance and love is one that allows for this traditional show to transcend time and become relatable for modern audiences.

The production features veterans from both Hollywood and Broadway. Leading Man Sky Masterson is played by Michael Lomenda, who played Nick Massi in the 2014 movie adaptation of Jersey Boys. Behind the scenes, Director and Choreographer Richard Hinds is coming to Auburn after working on the Tony-Award nominated production Come From Away.

The production is only one of many shows that will be featured this season by the Finger Lakes Musical Theater Festival. Other shows for the summer include Parade and the musical adaptation of the Academy-Award winning movie Ghost.
