Inaugural Ride for Regan Fundraiser

Family Remembers Three-Year-Old With Cruise Through CNY

Community members across Central New York will come together this month for a 'ride along' in honor of the life of three-year-old Regan Shetsky.

The family-friendly event was created by former firefighter, friend and organizer Jim Ennis, who said he wanted to do something good in honor of the little girl taken far too soon. “If you’re having a down day, I personally go onto the Regan’s Acts of Kindness Facebook page just to read through to see some of the other things people have dione and to see how far this movement has grown,” Ennis said.

Regan’s mom, Kelly Quinn Shetsky said that the purpose is to bring together people with all types of vehicles, cars and motorcycles, but to also do something positive as a way to continue to spread acts of kindness in honor of her daughter. Shetksy has worked to continue to share her daughter's bright smile and love of life through many different acts of kindness throughout the year. During the holidays, ornaments were given to newborns leaving the hospital in honor of Regan, flowers have been planted at the Rosamond Gifford Zoo, and many others have stepped up to join in the effort individually and in groups.

The cost to participate in the ride is $25 per vehicle which includes a collector shirt. All makes and models of cars, trucks and motorcycles are welcome, and you do not need to be a member of a car club to participate.

Regular admission for the event is $5 in advance, $10 at the gate, and children 12 and under are free. Sign-in will begin at 10am at Destiny USA’s Southwest lot on Solar Street, with the police escorted cruise to follow at 11am. The ride will end around 12 pm at the Syracuse Food Truck Festival at the NYS Fairgrounds.
You can also register by gifting $25 through paypal to regansactsofkindness@gmail.com. You will be asked to include the make/model of the vehicle and your Tshirt size. You can also pay online at youcaring.com/reganshetsky. Payment will also be accepted at the event and all proceeds benefit Regan's Acts of Kindness.
