Every spring, members of the New York State Maple Producers Association invite families and friends into their “sugar houses” to learn what it's like to be a maple syrup producer. More than one hundred farms and museums across New York State participate, offering delicious and fun activities for maple lovers to taste and enjoy.
Kim and Kevin Enders own Red Schoolhouse Maple in Oswego County and they look forward to maple weekends because it's an opportunity to get hands on with people of all ages.
This Saturday, they will host the official New York State Tree Tapping Ceremony beginning at 2pm. They encourage visitors to come out, sample maple products, enjoy educational opportunities -- including kids' activities and a taste of maple cook-off, and of course their annual pancake breakfast from 8am - 12pm.
