'Music Is My Drug' H.E.A.L Event

Heroin Awareness and Fundraising Event

Did you know at least one person overdoses every day in Cayuga County alone? The Heroin Epidemic Action League (H.E.A.L.) is working to prevent that through music and the arts.

H.E.A.L. Board Member, Lynette Wilson, and Band Leader, Diana Jacobs, join Sistina and TeNesha with information on “Music is my Drug.”

H.E.A.L was created in 2015 in conjunction with parents who lost their children to heroin and parents with children still battling the addiction. Through weekly meetings, support groups, and community events the grass roots organization fights the growing drug problem in Central New York.

The event is a drug and alcohol free concert event to raise awareness and money to prevent substance abuse. It will feature 4 bands including The Diana Jacobs Band, A.D.D. and student musicians. There will also be food, raffles, and a variety of vendors to provide support and therapy for those affected by the heroin epidemic.

“Music is my Drug” takes place this Saturday, March 25th from 6pm-10pm at the Fingerlakes Mall Event Center in Auburn. Tickets are $5 in advance and $7 at the door for students and $10 in advance and $12 at the door for adults. For more information about H.E.A.L’s mission, visit http://www.healheroin.org/.
