"Parade" at the Finger Lakes Musical Theater Festival

Broadway Classic Opens at Merry-Go-Round Playhouse

The Finger Lakes Musical Theater Festival kicked off their summer season with the Broadway classic "Guys & Dolls" and is heading into their second show, "Parade". Aaron Galligan-Stierle, who plays lead character Leo Frank, and Kristin Wetherington plays the role of his wife Lucille, discuss what audiences can expect to see in Auburn in the next few weeks.

The Tony-winning musical "Parade" is based on the true story of the highly controversial Leo Frank trial in 1913 Georgia. The classic themes of justice and the endurance of love in the face of conflict, are brought to life by the musical. While the story is amazing on it's own, the music and score by Jason Robert Brown stand out and the won the Tony Awards for Best Music and Best Original Score.

The Finger Lakes production will be opening on July 5th. Their version of the show has been described as an “emotional triumph with power and heart.” Shows at the FLMTF go up after only two weeks of rehearsal, bringing together a full production from scratch in an intense, tight turnaround. The cast are excited to bring the finished product to the stage on opening night next Wednesday.

The show runs from July 5th through the 26th, and tickets can be purchased from the box office at 1-800-457-8897 or online at https://fingerlakesmtf.com/ticketing/how-to-buy-tickets/
