St. Rose of Lima School in North Syracuse

Saint Rose of Lima School in North Syracuse is having an open house this weekend. The event is open and free for anyone to attend. They offer classes to children in from kindergarten to sixth grade as well as preschool classes for three year-olds and 4 year-olds.   

Saint Rose School Librarian and mom, Maria Ascenzo said that her decision to send her three children to a Catholic school was because, in general, they tend to excel in academics. Ascenzo said that she also likes the community outreach that her children can experience from attending Catholic School.

Fifth grader, Ava Ascenzo, said that she likes getting to hang out with her friends at school and that she likes that everyone knows each other. Ascenzo said that she gets to use the new technology that the school recently got, including smartboards in every classrooms and chromebooks.  

Saint Rose has different programs within the school where the older students get to work with the younger classrooms. This helps build the community within the school and give the older kids leadership opportunities.

The St. Rose of Lima School is having their open house this Sunday, January 29th from 12:30pm – 2:30pm. Parents and families are welcome to come and see the school as well as meet faculty and staff.
