A Spice to an Italian Favorite

Wegmans Chef Mike Hoover is whipping up a spicy Italian dish, Seafood Fra Diavolo.



1/2 of a 16 oz pkg Food You Feel Good About Uncooked Peeled & Deveined Shrimp

1/2 lb fresh calamari tubes, halved lengthwise

2 Tbsp Italian Classics Hot Pepper Spread

4 cups San Marzano Tomato Sauce

1 bag (2 lbs) Wegmans Canadian Organic Mussels, rinsed

1 pkg (16 oz) Italian Classics Linguine


  1. Toss shrimp, calamari, and pepper spread in bowl. Marinate, covered, at least 30 min in refrigerator.

  2. Heat sauce in braising pan on MED; bring to simmer. Add shrimp; cook 30 sec. Add mussels; stir to combine. Cover; cook, about 6 min, until mussels begin to open.

  3. Stir in calamari. Cover; cook 2 min. Remove from heat (discard any unopened mussels). Add cooked linguine; tossing to coat.
