Wegmans Tuna Tataki

Powering Through the Day with Energy Boosting Ingredients

If you’re feeling low on energy, there are many types of food out there that can fuel your day. Wegman’s Chef Jomer Martin is in the kitchen whipping up a healthy recipe of seared tuna to feed your power-hungry stomach.

Ingredients:

Raw tuna

Cooked Red Quinoa

Organic Super Greens (Organic Kale, Organic Spinach, etc.)

Soybeans

Green Beans

Pistachios

Red Bell Pepper

Yellow Bell Pepper

Gluten Free Soy Sauce

Black Truffle Spread Sugar

Distilled Vinegar

Scallions

Yuzu Juice

Concentrated Bonito Broth

Concentrated Orange Juice & Lemon Juice

Directions:

  1. First cut the red and yellow bell peppers into medium-thick slices and place onto plate, along with the other vegetables, green beans, your choice of kale or spinach, and soybeans.

  2. Boil the red quinoa on high heat in a small pot until the water is absorbed and the quinoa is a nice size.; Place red quinoa on plate with vegetables.

  3. Set your pan to a medium heat; Take the raw tuna and cover it in a sea salt, black tea, and black pepper mix; Sear the tuna in the pan 30 seconds to a minute on each side. Once done, place the tuna in cold water, so it stops cooking and pat it dry when you are ready to cut it.; Slice thin pieces of the tuna at an angle to place right on top of the vegetables and red quinoa.

  4. Drizzle the ginger dressing on top and it’s ready to be served.
