Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – A landscaping company in Cicero that won a $3,000 prize for winning a contrast to design new headquarters for Santa Claus is donating its winnings to pets.

Kapper Landscaping is making the donation to Central New York SPCA after winning to the statewide contest.

"It's wonderful to see people coming from the community that would do this type of project and think of the SPCA as the person they want to donate to,” said Paul Morgan of the CNY SPCA. “3,000 dollars helps and it will go a long way here. It's going to help the animals that are in need and help us overall with the care of the animals and medical supplies and so forth."

The SPCA says they normally see a drop in donations in January as people prepare for tax season.
