Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Upstate Cancer Center encourages self exams and check-ups

In honor of breast cancer awareness month in October, Upstate Medical University Doctors Scott Albert and Lisa Lai stress the importance of regular mammograms and self exams. Both Dr. Lai and Dr. Albert emphasized that transparency with your doctor and self awareness are key ways to help combat breast cancer. 

The month of October is dedicated to spreading awareness about breast cancer and the advancements already made and those still in progress to help find a cure.  Dr. Lai said that within the last thirty years major strides have been made to help fight breast cancer.

Upstate alone has two breast care centers in Syracuse. One is located at the Upstate Community Campus at 4900 Broad Road, at the Physician's office building south in suite 1D. The other is located downtown, at the Upstate Cancer Building lcoated at 750 East Adams Street.
