Cirque Du Soleil's "Varekai"

Performances This Week Only at Onceneter

Cirque Du Soleil, a Canadian entertainment company, is one of the largest theatrical productions in the world and has been performing for over 30 years since it began in 1984. They bring one of their signature productions "Varekai"  to Central New York this week.

"Varekai" is inspired by the story of Icarus who flies too close to the sun, burns his wings and dies in the ocean below. "Varekai" gives the story a new ending having Icarus survive and landing in an enchanted forest where he meets creatures who show him how to walk again, love and trust people once more.

Live music, a lavish set featuring 330 trees and eye-catching costumes are just some of the highlights of the production, spokesperson Max Batista said.

Varekai Cirque Du Soleil plays at The Onceneter War Memorial on Friday November 17th at 7:30pm, Saturday November 18th at 4pm and 7:30pm and on Sunday November 19th at 5:00pm.

Tickets are available at cirquedusoleil.com/varekai
