Disney's "The Lion King" revamped tour will take to the stage at the Landmark Theatre in less than a week. Actors and stagehands are already in town and rehearsals are under way. Actor Mark Campbell, who plays Scar and Actress Nia Holloway, who plays Nala are no strangers to the tour. Both have been part of the production and are thrilled to be back on tour.
More than 17 million people in North America, and 90 million people worldwide have seen the best-loved musical. Both actors agree that the performance itself of the popular Disney story lends well to the stage and those who love the film will love the stage version just as much.
Campbell says that it's one of the few shows he's been a part of where young children are totally enganged from start to finnish. That interest in part is due to the award-winning direction from Julie Taymor who brings to life a story filled with hope, adventure and incredibly imagined costumes.
“The Lion King” starts its new national tour in Central New York on Thursday October 26 through Sunday, November 12th. There are both afternoon and evening shows. For tickets and information visit BroadwayInSyracuse.com, or stop by the Landmark Theatre box office.
