Pride Day at The New York State Fair

Celebrating the LGBTQ Community

The New York State Fair is the only fair in the United States that recognizes and celebrates the LGBTQ Community. And today the LGBTQ community has many different events planned throughout the state fair.

Pulse Club Manager and former Central New Yorker Brian Reagan will be part of the day's festivities that include a flag raising ceremony, LGBT choirs and a parade at 6pm. All throughout Chevy Court, information for LGBTQ people and their family members will also be available.

A ceremony marking Pride Day takes place at 5 pm on the Empire Experience Stage. Reagan will be among the speakers at the 5 pm event. As the manager of the Pulse Night Club, Reagan was at the club when a gunman opened fire inside killing 49 people in Orlando Florida in 2016.

Singer and songwriter Mary Lambert will also be one of the several performers on the Empire Experience Stage.  Lamber is known for collaborating with Macklemore and Ryan Lewis on "Same Love" and she wrote the chorus from her perspective of being both a Christian and a lesbian. She was also the featured vocalist.
