The Syracuse Area Music Awards (SAMMYs) are only 3 weeks away and the 5th round of voting for audience choice categories is almost over. Bridge Street is continuing it's weekly spotlight of local performers leading up to the SAMMYs with Corey Paige, a two-time SAMMY Award winner.
Paige was the front man for the rock band Candid for over a decade. While in Candid, the band had five studio albums and won a SAMMY.
Paige has also won a SAMMY as a solo artist. He has many great singles available like “Evening News” and “Finishing Touches”. He is now working on his first solo album with his mainly acoustic music.
When asked why 2018 is his year to start putting together an album, Paige states that “I just had one of those moments where I’m working on a new song, and I’ve got this handful of songs just laying around… it’s one of those moments where you should just go do it.”
Some of Paige's biggest influences are Elliott Smith, Radiohead and Elvis Costello.
