Cystic Fibrosis/ Xtreme Hike Fundraiser

Cystic Fibrosis Foundation's Xtreme Hike event and how it helps to raise funds to support research for a cure
Cystic Fibrosis Foundation is to assure the development of the means to cure and control cystic fibrosis and to improve the quality of life for those with the disease.  In order to support their mission, the foundation is having their Xtreme Hike event in order to raise funds to support research for a cure. This Hike is an opportunity for participants to challenge themselves both physically and philanthropically. The event will take place during the weekend of September 6, 2013.  

This is the second year the foundation has set up the event and this year they are challenging paricipants to hike Mount Marcy, the highest fo the 46 High Peaks and the highest point in New York State!  The weekend includes food and hotel for the weekend along with transporation to and from the trailhead.  Event particiapnts will head to Lake Placid on Friday evening for a pre event dinner and information session.  Participants will hike Saturday, September 7th, and be able to attend a Celebration Breakfast on Sunday morning. 

Not a hiker? Not a problem!  The fourndation is offering training, availible now and till the date of the event, to prepare anyone who wishes to participate!  Training hikes are scheduled for every other week and each participant recieves a training schedule to keep them in shape, as well.
