Redhouse Rock Camp

Do you want you kids to spend their summer sitting on the couch or becoming rockstars? Here's how your kid can become a star!
Rock beats paper AND scissors at this summer camp! Today we learned about the Redhouse Rock Camp!

The Redhouse Arts Center is looking to take children to the next level in their Rock Camp, a summer music camp that teaches students the skills they need to become performers. There are two, 3 week sessions this summer, each ending with a concert showing off what the children have learned.

We sat down with Marguerite Mitchell, the RedEd Education Director, and Emmett Van Slyke, the Music Director, and discussed the program and how it focuses on band building and music appreciation.

After the interview we were treated with a performance of Stevie Wonder's "Superstitious" by students of Rock Camp, the band Taking the Stairs.
