Syracuse (WSYR-TV) -- A convicted gun runner who went to prison for putting weapons in the hands of violent Syracuse gang members is on the run again.

This week’s fugitive is 39-year-old Darell Harlow who was previously a gang member and gun runner. Nine years ago he was sent to prison for his role in a Georgia to Syracuse firearms trafficking ring. Harlow sold guns to members of his gang to protect their turf and drug sales.

Now, it’s his ex-girlfriend who’s seeking protection from him. Police say Harlow was arrested earlier this year for harassment and violating an order of protection.

“He was allegedly to have struck her with his fists at the time. The other incidents have him coming to the residence. She was fearful of some kind of physical violence happening,” said Sergeant John Savage, with the Syracuse Police Warrant Squad.

A detective with the warrant squad left his business card with a family member, which prompted a phone call from Harlow. Harlow told the detective, “You want me? Come and find me.”

“I can guarantee we will. It’s a matter of time,” Sgt. Savage said. “This is one of many, many warrants that we get, so we use this avenue – your viewers – to help us out.”

Harlow is 5’11” tall, and weighs 180 pounds.

If you can help find Harlow, give detectives a call at 442-5230. All calls will remain confidential.
