Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – Police are On The Lookout for a Syracuse man accused of sneaking into a ladies locker room to record women showering and changing.

Syracuse Police say there were just a few women in the ladies locker room the morning of July 16th, at the downtown YMCA, when they had some unexpected and unwelcomed company.

“The victims in this incident actually observed him using a cellphone to videotape them, or take photographs of them, while they were in the locker room,” said Sergeant John Savage with the Syracuse Police Department.

Police say the man was 34-year-old Vincent Procopio and he is wanted for:
  • Unlawful Surveillance in the 2nd Degree, class E felony
  • Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree, class A misdemeanor
YMCA staffers said they recognized the man as a person who had been there before and attempted to stop him, but say he took off before police could get there.

“It alerts us, concerns us that he may be going and frequenting other public places attempting to do the same,” Savage said.

Police describe Procopio as a drifter and say he may be in the Rochester area.

Vincent Procopio is listed as:
  • Native-American male
  • 5 foot-7 inches tall
  • 210 pounds
  • Black hair
  • Brown eyes
  • Prominent scar on right cheek
