Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – A Syracuse man who police believe stalked a teenage ex-girlfriend - tying her to a tree in a wooded area during one incident - has been located and arrested.

Police were looking for 36-year-old Dunte Grant for unlawful imprisonment, harassment, and criminal contempt.

Police say that on the morning of July 9, Grant followed the girl while she walked through Elmwood Park.

They say he seized the girl and dragged her into a wooded area, tying her to the tree using clothing.

According to police, she was tied up for half and hour before she was able to free herself and call police.

She already had an order of protection after Grant allegedly threatened to hurt her when she refused to get back together with him.

Police were concerned because his violence seemed to be escalating.

Grant has lived in Syracuse since 2006.
