Rome (WSYR-TV) - The Oneida County Sheriff’s Department is On The Lookout for a driver allegedly involved in a hit-and-run on Monday.

Deputies say the accident happened at 5:30 p.m. on Route 69 near Walmart.

A blue, possibly older model Ford Explorer XLT was being operated westbound on Route 69 when it recklessly passed and sideswiped a second vehicle, according to deputies.

The Sheriff’s Office say the driver of the blue SUV then ran the steady red traffic signal fleeing west, towards Taberg on Route 69.

Deputies say the SUV should have passenger front and side damage, most noticeably the right headlight assembly is missing or significantly damaged.

Anyone with information regarding the SUV and driver is urged to call (315) 337-3710 or (315) 736-0141.

All calls will remain confidential.
