Police looking for driver after hit-and-run involving a child

Syracuse Police are looking for a driver who they believe left the scene after striking a child around 7:15 p.m. on the 200 block of Davis Street in the city.
Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – Syracuse Police are looking for a driver who they believe left the scene after striking a child around 7:15 p.m. on the 200 block of Davis Street in the city.

The victim, a 9-year-old boy, was riding his bicycle eastbound when he was struck by the car.

Witnesses described the vehicle as a large, tan or gold-colored, four-door sedan - possibly a Buick - with a gold New York State license plate.

They say the vehicle may have minor front-end damage.

The car was last seen traveling north on South Street from Delaware Street.

The boy was taken to Upstate University Hospital with a broken ankle.
