Syracuse (WSYR-TV) - Syracuse Police hope you can help them catch the Brooklyn Pickle bandit, after they say he swiped two sandwich shop employees’ purses.

Police say the incident happened on Oct. 30 at about 6 p.m. at the Brooklyn Pickle at the corner of Burnet and Midler Avenues .

The thief was caught on tape slipping into an employee door in the back of the shop, and then headed directly to where the workers kept their purses.

He is then seen exiting the store with two purses. Police say it appears as if he may have been familiar with the restaurant.

“He is obviously someone who came into the place, knew what he was looking for and has probably done this before, so this might be someone who is committing these larcenies elsewhere,” said Sergeant Tom Connellan with the Syracuse Police Department.

The young looking man made off with a Coach bag and a Michael Kors purse containing credit cards and an iPhone 5.

The surveillance video doesn't catch a clear and close image of the suspect, but police hope someone might be able to provide some information on who it could be.

“Maybe someone saw him walking away from the store, maybe someone saw him getting into a car, maybe someone heard him talking about this, any clue that could help us determine who this person is,” Sgt. Connellan said.

The Brooklyn Pickle bandit was wearing a white t-shirt, light colored jeans and dark sneakers.
