Syracuse (WSYR-TV) - Syracuse Police are On The Lookout for a suspected burglar who combined his criminal and construction skills when he took the extraordinary step of knocking a hole in a wall to get into a North Side bar.

The burglary was Caught On Tape on August 25 at about 6:50 a.m. after the Venue Bar at 658 North Salina Street had been closed for hours.

Police say the suspect was methodical in all his moves, from how he got into the bar to how he decided what he would take.

“This guy is in no hurry. He's very slow, methodical and looks over the whole place. He was touching a lot of things in there,” said Sergeant Tom Connellan with the Syracuse Police Department.

Police say the suspect mainly stole liquor but also made away with some money after breaking into the cash register.

According to police, the suspect broke into the bar by knocking a hole in the wall.

“We're looking for anyone that may recognize this person, the clothing he's wearing, or any facial features. Maybe someone has information on someone who may have had some alcohol that they were trying to get rid of or sell,” said Sgt. Connellan.

The suspect is described by police as:
  • Male Caucasian
  • Between 35 and 40-years-old
  • Approximately 5'10 - 6-ft. tall
