Door-to-door meat vendors: The Real Deal

You frequent grocery stores, farmers markets and some specialty food shops and now you want “The Real Deal” on one unconventional vendor that has you asking questions.
Baldwinsville (WSYR-TV) -- You frequent grocery stores, farmers markets and some specialty food shops and now you want “The Real Deal” on one unconventional vendor that has you asking questions.

NewsChannel 9 has received several calls regarding folks driving around the community selling steaks. Are they The Real Deal?

Viewer George says he hasn’t seen any company name or logo, but two men are going around his Baldwinsville neighborhood selling meat out of a truck.

While what those men are doing isn’t categorically wrong, we can tell you that you should probably stay away from this vendor since no application for a vending permit has been filed with the Village Clerk’s Office.

Baldwinsville Police Chief Michael Lefancheck says anyone wanting to sell door-to-door must first file that application with the village so his department can conduct a background check.

The next time someone goes around your neighborhood with something to sell, you should check with the town or village offices to make sure they’re legit.
