Syracuse (WSYR-TV) - President Obama was recently invited by Congressman Maffei to visit the Tubman home in Auburn as this year marks the 100th anniversary of her death.
Maffei says the invitation still stands and residents are hoping the president makes a stop in Auburn during his bus tour, which will land in Syracuse on Thursday.
The congressman is attempting to build support for a bill to create a national historical park on the property of the Tubman house.
The White House hasn’t confirmed whether or not the president will stop in Auburn.
