What are the rules for removing campaign signs? Your Stories Question

Although a few weeks have passed since the election, Central New Yorkers say they're still seeing campaign signs.
Syracuse (WSYR-TV) - Although a few weeks have passed since the election, Central New Yorkers say they're still seeing campaign signs.

Different municipalities have different rules for sign removal.

In the city of Syracuse, there is no ordinance so signs can stand indefinitely.

Meanwhile, in DeWitt, signs must be removed no later than seven days after the election.

Property owners should be taking down their own signs, but sometimes political campaigns will send crews out after the election to remove any remaining banners.

Department of Public Works and highway crews can also be commissioned for the task.
