Police in Binghamton say they're investigating an apparent-murder suicide at a home in the city.
BINGHAMTON, N.Y. (AP) - Police in Binghamton say they're investigating an apparent-murder suicide at a home in the city.

Police Chief Joseph Zikuski tells local media outlets that officers were called to the home around 3:15 p.m. Thursday after a relative of a woman found dead in the house called 911. Zikuski says the relative arrived at the house and found a man's body in the doorway.

He says officers found the woman's body inside the home, along with a note apparently left by the man that indicated the deaths were a murder-suicide.

Police haven't released details on the relationship between the man and the woman. Their names haven't been released.

An autopsy was to be conducted by the Onondaga County medical examiner's office in Syracuse to determine the causes of death.
