Elmira (WSYR-TV/WETM-TV) - Four Elmira men are under arrest in connection to the deaths of a man and woman in Chautauqua County whose bodies were found in a burning home.

Ricky Knickerbocker, Steven Todd, Joshua McCormick, and David Coggins, all of Elmira, are being held on probable cause, according to WETM-TV.

The two victims are Gordon Skinner, 66 and Joyce Skinner, 59.

Fire officials responded to an emergency call at the home of the Skinners in the Chautauqua County town of Carroll on Wednesday.

When they arrived at the scene they found the couple dead.

According to WJET in Erie, Chautauqua County Sheriff Joseph Gerace said this is the most disturbing case he has ever handled.

Authorities say they don’t believe a gun was used to kill the Skinners.

They don’t know if the Skinners died before or after the fire.

Officials also say they do not believe this is a random act of violence.

They say they believe this was a home invasion and the Skinners were targeted.
