Police arrested eight Syracuse University students after an incident outside of Faegan’s Bar early Thursday morning.
Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – Police arrested eight Syracuse University students after an incident outside of Faegan’s Bar early Thursday morning.

Police responded to the bar on the 700 block of South Crouse Avenue around 1:05 a.m. after a caller complained that a large crowd had gathered outside the bar and refused to leave.

When they arrived, police found approximately 15 people gathered in a parking lot outside the bar. The people in the group were drinking and arguing.

They were told the group had been kicked out of the bar because of a disturbance within it.

The group moved toward the front of the bar while yelling at Faegan’s employees and police interceded in order to keep the incident from escalating into a physical confrontation.

The group turned on the officers and began blocking traffic, however, and more police had to be called in to the scene.

Police estimate that 300 people gathered at the scene and they began dispersing people in order to restore order.

The people that declined to calm down were arrested.

The eight people who were arrested were taken to the Justice Center to await arraignment.
