Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – A murder case that many Central New Yorkers will recognize out of Seneca County was featured on national television on Monday night.

ABC’s “Nightline” aired some of the exclusive recordings that are being used to prosecute Karl Karlsen – a man who police say murdered his son in order to reap the insurance money.

The Romulus man was formally charged with second degree murder less than a year ago.

Last week, a judge determined that a recorded conversation between Karlsen and his wife, Cindy, as well as recorded comments he made to police will be permitted in his trial.
