Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – A Syracuse area canine rescue group is asking for the public’s help in finding the person or people they believe are responsible for the death of a dog.

The Cuse Pit Crew says a dead pit bull was found in a garbage bag across the street from the Southside Academy Charter School on Onondaga Creek Boulevard on Wednesday morning.

They say the dog appears to have been severely neglected or abused. Pictures they provided for NewsChannel 9 appear to confirm that the dog was mistreated.

The rescue organization posthumously named the dog “Faith.”

Syracuse Police are investigating the matter.

Anyone with information on the dog or its owners should contact police at (315) 442-5200.

More information on the Cuse Pit Crew is available on the organization’s website and its Facebook page.
