West Amboy (WSYR-TV) - Crews were kept busy overnight in Oswego County, where the former West Amboy fire station caught fire after a driver crashed into the building and left the scene.
Crews were sent to State Route 69 around 11:45 p.m. They found the car and building on fire.
But, the driver was gone. A witness told Newschannel 9 he saw a man crash into the building before leaving the scene.
The former fire station is now privately owned and used for farm storage.
A large amount of hay is kept inside, hindering crews as they tried to get the flames under control.
Eight departments were called to help for several hours. Firefighters were able to pull the car out of the building. Investigators are working to track down the driver.
