Crash scene cleared; Route 81 south is open

Route 81 southbound just south of the Adams Street exit is open after a crash around 6:40 p.m. Sunday.
Syracuse (WSYR-TV) - Route 81 southbound, just south of the Adams Street exit in Syracuse, is open after being closed for about an hour after a crash around 6:40 p.m. Sunday.

Syracuse Police said four vehicles crashed while trying to avoid a disabled vehicle in one of the driving lanes.

A 23-year-old driver from Binghamton was taken to Upstate University Hospital in a private vehicle as a precaution.  The crash did not result in any other injuries.

The highway was closed while the vehicles were removed from the road.

No tickets have been issued.
