Driver charged with DWI after crashing into a utility pole

Sheriff's deputies believe alcohol and speed contributed to an overnight crash in Marcellus.
Marcellus (WSYR-TV) - Alcohol and speed may have played a role in an overnight crash in Marcellus, according to Onondag County sheriff's deputies.

Rescue crews were called to West Main Street in the Village of Marcellus at 1:54 a.m. on Saturday.

They found 24-year old Ikeen Davis of Syracuse, who was airlifted to Upstate University hospital, where he is expected to recover.

Deputies believe Davis was driving too fast when he lost control at a curve in the road and hit a utility pole.

Davis is charged with Driving While Intoxicated, Unlicensed Operator, Reckless Driving, and Imprudent Speed.
