Girl’s dream of dancing with prince comes true thanks to Make-A-Wish CNY

Canastota (WSYR-TV) - A princess in the Kingdom of Canastota had her dream come to life on Friday with the help of the Make-A-Wish foundation of Central New York.

11-year-old Annie Lown of Yates County, who suffers from Cystic Fibrosis, celebrated her birthday on Friday night in grand style.

The Make-A-Wish foundation treated Annie to a spa before her big night, the night her dream of dancing with a prince at a ball would come true.

“We worked some magic and contacted Lorenzo [Borghese] who is an Italian prince,” said Olivia Colabufo with the Make-A-Wish foundation.

As Princess Annie and her date drove into the magical kingdom of Canastota, the townspeople came out to welcome her.

The mayor of Canastota gave her a key to the kingdom before she entered the Greystone Castle.

“I am so honored to be here tonight and this is a night I will always remember,” said Borghese, who starred on season 9 of the show “The Bachelor.”

The royal couple, with their court to their side, sat at the head table in the royal ball room and ate.

After eating, the moment Annie and her guests had been waiting for arrived. Prince Borghese took Annie by the hand and escorted her to the dance floor where her dream came true.

“It's been absolutely beautiful. It’s been a fairy tale. It’s hard to describe from a mother's perspective how beautiful it’s been,” said Marie Lown, Annie’s mother.

A fairy tale evening that made Princess Annie’s dream come true on a night she won’t soon forget.
