Kuehner announces republican candidacy for Syracuse Mayor

Syracuse attorney Kevin Kuehner, who was already on the November ballot for the councilor-at-large seat, will now be the republican's candidate for mayor.
Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – Syracuse attorney Kevin Kuehner, who was already on the November ballot for the councilor-at-large seat, will now be the republican's candidate for mayor.

Kuehner is replacing Onondaga County Republican Committee Chairman Tom Dadey, who simply put his name on petitions as a placeholder to give the party time to find a viable candidate.

Monday was the deadline for Kuehner to announce his candidacy.

The democratic ticket is made up of incumbent Stephanie Miner, Councilor Pat Hogan and Alfonso Davis.

Primary day in Syracuse is set for Tuesday, September 10.
