NY state senator calls for torture of Boston Marathon bomb suspect

A New York state Senator says that authorities should consider “torturing” a 19-year-old Boston Marathon bomb suspect.
Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – A New York state Senator says that authorities should consider “torturing” a 19-year-old Boston Marathon bomb suspect.

According to The Journal News website lohud.com, Republican State Senator Greg Ball tweeted “So, scum bag #2 in custody. Who wouldn’t use torture on this punk to save more lives?”

The site indicated that Ball - a Republican who represents the 40th Senate District - declined to back off on his statement, saying that people who find the tweet “offensive” needed to look at themselves.

“If people find that offensive, they’re going to have to check their own conscience," he said.

On Saturday, Ball focused more on the death penalty, and said New Yorkers need to be tough on criminals with terrorist inclinations:

"Playing paddy cake with mass murdering killers is not effective in my opinion," he told the newspaper.
